Communities Connect (CC) is a collaboration of concerned community members and leaders working together to improve access to health care in Washington State. Through its collaboration CC promotes the sharing of local issues and barriers to health care, and the collective support and strength needed to address these issues at a statewide level.
The following are their 2006 legislative priorities:
- Completion of Budget Proviso Study and adoption of the proposed solution
- Passage of a “Community Health Works Grant Program” bill that would provide resources to local communities organizing to improve access, efforts will be made to find local representatives to serve as sponsors for the final bill.
Conceptually, WAHA’s Health Policy Committee endorsed the legislative priorities set forth by Communities Connect.
