Breast, Cervical and Colon Health Program
This early detection program provides free breast, cervical, and colon cancer screening to low-income people in Washington State. In Whatcom County, services are provided at Sea Mar, Interfaith and Mount Baker Family Medicine (Planned Parenthood). Mt. Baker Planned Parenthood
Planned Parenthood provides family planning services for women, men and teens on sliding fee scale. Some services are free for eligible patients through the Take Charge program. The phone number for MBPP is

WWIN provides assistance to low income women who are at least 18 and are residents of Washington.

 

Discount and Charity Care Programs
Some medical providers in the community offer “charity care” programs that provide free or discounted care. Bridge Assistance is the charity care program of PeaceHealth, which includes the St Joseph Hospital Emergency Department and many out-patient providers. Dental Care

Access to Baby and Child Dentistry (ABCD) is a Washington State program to improve oral health and to increase access to dental care for Medicaid eligible children less than six years of age.

Whatcom County Oral Health Coalition is working to improve oral health for community members of all ages through prevention, education, and increased access to dental care. Their website also includes a current list of dental care providers who accept Medicaid or offer services for a reduced fee.

 

Personal Health Record

Shared Care Plan is a free, easy-to-use, personal health record that lets you organize and store vital health information. You can share this information with your family, physicians and others you feel should have access to this information. The Shared Care Plan is much more — it is also a self-management care plan, improving your understanding of your own health. It can help you manage chronic conditions, coordinate the care of others, and improve your health.

Benefits Check Up provides resources for specific prescription needs after completing a short questionnaire.

NeedyMeds allows users to search by brand name, generic drug name, assistance program and drug company. It also provides information on how to enroll in charitable programs.
