Whatcom Project Access, a partnership between the Whatcom Alliance for Healthcare Access and the Whatcom County Medical Society, links uninsured, low income Whatcom County residents to specialty providers who have agreed to donate their care.
The need for Whatcom Project Access is greater than ever before
In Whatcom County, over 25,000 of our family members, friends and neighbors are uninsured. As unemployment rises and insurance premiums go up, this number will only continue to grow. There is no other program that helps people get the care they need more than Project Access. Today we ask for your support.
Project Access helps people get treatment they need from a medical community that cares
- Since 2007 over 650 people have received care through Project Access.
- The dollar value of donated services exceeds $3 million.
- More than 80% (approximately 200) of local specialty providers donate their time and services to Project Access.
Why donate to Project Access?
“It’s just the right thing to do. This is an easy way to give people in our community the care they need.”
- Whatcom Project Access Donating Physician
“I lost my job. I lost my insurance. And then I got cancer. I couldn’t have waited until I could afford treatment. I had the kind of cancer that needed to be treated right away- or it would be too late. Project Access saved my life.”

You can make a difference. WAHA, in partnership with the St. Luke’s Foundation, has launched a campaign to raise $75,000 for Project Access. Donations made before December 31, 2011 will be matched by the Foundation at 2 to 1 — your gift of $100 will result in a total donation of $150. This amount will help provide program support and care coordination for a friend or neighbor in need of donated medical services — a great investment!
Please join over 200 specialty providers and support Project Access with your donation today.
WAHA is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization. Your contribution is tax deductible to the full extent of the law. Contact Elya Moore at (360) 788-6560 to discuss your gift.
