Whatcom Project Access is a partnership between the Whatcom County Medical Society & the Whatcom Alliance for Healthcare Access. Our collective aim is to more effectively and efficiently serve uninsured, low income people in Whatcom County by:
- Ensuring an equitable distribution of uninsured patients
- Provide a structured system for providers to donate care
- Provide coordination of donated services to improve quality of care and ensure program sustainability.
Through Whatcom Project Access, members of the local medical community generously donate their time and resources to provide care to those in need. Whatcom Project Access provides a comprehensive referral system that includes care coordination and connection with donated ancillary services. WPA also tracks the value of donated care to leverage additional resources and ensure program sustainability.
“”We need an effective system that helps these patients receive the health care they deserve and credits physicians with the care that they give. That is why I intend to not only participate in Project Access, but also promote the program to my colleagues.” - Tom Stackhouse, MD
