Apple Health for Kids is public health insurance (Medicaid) through the Department of Social and Health Services (DSHS). The Washington State income guidelines are very generous, and many working families qualify for coverage, either for free or with a small monthly premium.
Apple Health is available to families whose gross monthly income is at or below the amounts listed below. Apple Health provides medical, dental and mental health coverage for children up to age 19. Monthly premiums are $0, $20 or $30 per child, depending on family size and income.

Ways to apply for Apple Health
- DSHS On-line application
- In-person at the DSHS Community Service Office. The Whatcom County CSO is located at 4101 Meridian St., Bellingham, WA 98226.
- You can also apply for Apple Health on the ParentHelp website; the application will be directly submitted to DSHS.
