For Young Adults

Young adults up to the age of 26 are eligible to be covered through a parent’s employer based health insurance, a change that is part of national health care reform. If their job offers health insurance, they do have to opt for that, but for the many young adults with jobs that don’t offer benefits, young adults can stay on parents’ insurance until age 26 even if they’re not a student, are married or working.

Please note, some plans are considered “grandfathered” and are not required to provide this coverage. Check with the health plan administrator for details.
