2008 Priority

Support of School Outreach Bil (SB5100)

This bill would require schools to identify kids without health insurance and to provide Medicaid information using support of local community based organizations such as WAHA.
WAHA presently has a successful school outreach program with 6 of Whatcom County’s school districts and is considered a model for the rest of the state.
Consistently collecting information of who is without health insurance is the first step in outreach to these families.
New bill language will be drafted based on input from the bill sponsors and other stakeholders will be available for review in late December.
