Navigating the System
WAHA is working to help patients find their way through the health care system. The following information will help patients find insurance coverage, locate care, and learn how to get the most out of their visit to the doctor:
Health Care Map: Find physicians, community health clinics, walk-in clinics, and related resource and referral services in 3 up-to-date, interactive maps of Whatcom County and Bellingham.
Access to CARE: WAHA Access Coordinators offer coverage, access, and resource education or "CARE" services to help patients and their families navigate the health care system.
Specialty Physician Access: WAHA and the Medical Society are developing an access network whereby participating physicians will accept referrals from primary care providers for uninsured patients meeting income eligibility criteria.
Patient Pointers/ WAHA Publications: Information for patients on what they need to know before visiting the doctor.
