Small Business Health Insurance Connection

Small business employees and low income workers who can’t access or afford coverage are the largest and fastest growing group of uninsured. Although employers may want to support health care coverage for their workers, the cost of traditional commercial products and a lack of expertise to evaluate other options create barriers to providing coverage.

WAHA is working with key institutional partners, the Economic Development Council (EDC) and the Western Washington University Small Business Development Center (SBDC), and various community stakeholders to develop the Small Business Health Insurance Connection program (SB-HIC). This program will offer a single contact point for health insurance-related issues for small business owners and employees, providing efficient access to all products and enrollment processes within the private and public insurance markets.
